I was talking with one of my really good friends. And our conversation somehow went to listing all the things that we’re happy about. It was a pretty uplifting conversation. Obviously.
She told me that she’ll occasionally write a list of all the things that make her happy and then spend a few moments reflecting on each of the items on the list. Her list had somewhere around 100 entries. Which sounded pretty intense even to me, a positive blogger. (Hmmm I kinda like that title. Mark Craven, Positive Blogger.)
Anyway, I started thinking about making that a practice. Start the list and add to it daily. Once the list is complete, or you think it’s complete, you can always add to it, do yourself a favor and look over it. Reflect briefly on the things on the list. Here’s the best part… I came up with this part… once you’ve read over the list, stand up and do your own version of a happy dance. Mine kind of looks like Jack Black in the movie The Polka King. It’s pretty amazing. So read your list, reflect, do your happy dance and then laugh at yourself. Laugh as uncontrollably as you’d like.
